Sauna etiquette

basic rules
SAUNA ETIQUETTE

Regular visits to the sauna have multiple benefits on health. They improve blood circulation, initiate the detoxification processes of the body, strengthens the immune system and the heart, relaxes the mind and has a beneficial effect on our skin, if you follow our few rules.

  • Prior to entering the sauna, take off your jewelry. Metal can become extremely hot, even causing burn.
  • Leave your slippers and any other object outside.
  • Take a shower prior to using the sauna and rub yourself completely dry. This removes cosmetics and impurities from the skin surface, which is important because these substances can have a negative effect when degrading into other components at high temperatures. Towel drying is very important because entering the sauna with wet skin - due to the cooling effect of the water - would prevent your body from sweating, and you can overheat.

basic rules
SAUNA ETIQUETTE

  • If you're new to the sauna experience, start slowly with 5-8 minutes, and when you become more experienced, spend 10 to 15 minutes per session.
  • Do not eat a large meal prior to using a sauna, but do not be hungry either.
  • The higher seats have considerably higher air temperature. If it is too much for you, change your seat level. Ensure that you bring a towel you can sit on. It is best not to wear a synthetic swimsuit because it emits harmful substances at high temperatures. After bathing it is best to change into another swimsuit or put on a sauna suit so as not to inhale the chlorine that evaporates from the swimsuit.
  • To protect the longevity of the stove, do not pour your own essential oil on the stone; instead, if you would like some scent, ask the bath attendant, who will do infusions several times a day.
  • Saunas are quiet places. Your conversation or laughter may disturb others trying to relax and rest. Close your eyes, focus inside, focus on your breathing.

basic rules
SAUNA ETIQUETTE

  • Drink plenty of water after the sauna, and refrain from intense exercising for a while.
  • Immerse in the cold water plunge pool only after taking a shower. This is because cold water eliminates the waste products through the pores that shrink suddenly. Also, imagine everyone was washing themselves off in the plunge pool.
  • Please only immerse in this pool, never jump into it.
  • Do not use a sauna if you're ill, as in most cases it doesn't help recovery. Stay in the sauna only as long as you feel good. Exit the sauna immediately if you feel dizzy or ill, and if necessary ask the attendants to help you.
  • Between two sauna sessions always take a break and relax, for at least as long as the time you spent in the sauna.

ENJOY YOUR TIME IN THE SAUNAS!
